Brazilian Butt lift

Brazilian Butt lift, a risk worth taking?

It’s hard to believe that the current trend is to have a bigger bottom, but the Brazilian Butt Lift offers exactly that. Answering that age old question “does my bum look big in this” has a whole new meaning. I’ve been trying for years to get rid of mine, only to find that I’ve been trendy all along! Go figure.

The Brazilian Butt Lift is the latest in the trend to get that “Kardashian” look. But just that “big and beautiful” look isn’t enough, it has to be a certain amount, shape and prominence.

It really is the latest in vanity, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder and if that is what it takes, then have at it, BUT, there is a problem and people are dying from botched procedures.
The main issue is cost. Rather than forking out a whooping £8,000 for a procedure here in the UK, patients are going online and picking the cheapest option to save on costs.

Most reported deaths appear to have been caused by unqualified practitioners working in non-approved facilities. Shockingly, these including homes and garages.

What is a Brazilian Butt Lift?

Brazilian Butt LiftThe BBL procedure involves taking fat from areas of the body where it’s not wanted and transplanting it into the buttocks (glutes muscle) to make them bigger.

Fat is injected into the buttock to form a “fat graft” to the existing muscle. Injecting into a blood supply is important as each fat graft requires nutrition. That key factor is what is causing problems that all too often lead to serious complications when done incorrectly.

The risks in the BBL procedure are high due to the chances of fat entering the blood stream. This could lead to a “fat embolism” that leads to blockages of blood vessels. These blockages travels to key areas such as the Lungs and Heart. Gangrene and sepsis are also prevalent in plastic surgery.

So is it worth it?

That all depends on how beauty obsessed you are. Modern society weighs the risks of difficulties in the BBL procedure against the benefits of having the surgery as something and nothing. “S**t happens” seems to be the general feeling among men and women having this procedure. Vanity comes at a cost and that cost might be too high a price for the Brazilian Butt Lift.

Patient safety is paramount and surgeons need to make the risks of the procedure very clear. Having your BBL done in a garage in the back streets of some forgotten hell hole just to save £££ is a guaranteed way of getting your new ass handed to you, and not in a good way.
